National Standards

National traceability systems in all industrially developed countries are based on legislatively adopted national systems of units of physical quantities and national (state) standards realizing these units. Values of units are transferred from measurement standards to working measuring instruments used in industry, trade, science, medicine, etc. National measurement standards are property of States and their condition determines the level of scientific, technical and cultural development of the country.

The VNIIM has developed and maintains the standards of the following units:

SI units of main quantities (unit of length - meter, unit of mass - kilogram, unit of electric current intensity - Ampere, unit of thermodynamic temperature - Kelvin)

National standard of the unit of length

National standard of the unit of mass

National standard of the unit of electric current intensity

Derived units of mechanical, electric, magnetic, temperature, physical and chemical quantities and quantities of ionizing radiations

National standard of the unit of force

Graphite moderator - a part of the national standard of the units of neutron flux and neutron flux density
