Visit of SSDL delegation (Iran) to VNIIM
From 7 to 8 September 2016 a delegation from the Secondary Standard Dosimetry Laboratory (SSDL) working under the auspices of the Iranian Pars Isotope Co. visited VNIIM. The delegation was headed by Mr. Kourosh Arbabi, Head of SSDL and included Mr. Arjang Shahvar, Responsible for Calibrations at the Protection Level, and Mr. Mohammadreza Yazdani, Responsible for Calibrations in the Nuclear Medicine. The SSDL delegation was received by Dr. Yu.A. Kustikov, Deputy Director, Dr. S.G. Trofumchuk, Head of Ionizing Radiations Department, Dr. A.V. Oborin, Head of Dosimetry Laboratory, and other leading scientists of VNIIM.
The Iranian delegation was given a presentation about the history and present activities of VNIIM, and familiarized with the Russian State primary standards in the field of measurement of ionizing radiations as well as with the work of VNIIM related to measurements of characteristics of radionuclide sources for brachytherapy and measurements of radionuclide activity in radiopharmaceuticals. The parties proposed and discussed possible joint projects in the field of ionizing radiations measurements.
